A streamlined scheduling solution

Tidal’s pre-built adapter for Oracle Cloud ERP integrates your ERP and HCM scheduling tasks in the Tidal platform with no scripting required, making it effortless to manage web services, perform administrative tasks and leverage SQL and Java capabilities.

What the adapter enables

This integration provides more advanced scheduling functionality than the native Oracle Cloud ERP scheduler, empowering you to manage job runs and runtime operations efficiently.

  • Access dozens of predefined business and regional calendars out of the box
  • Automate time-based scheduling across global time zones and analyze job metadata
  • Build dependencies with other application workflows or tasks
  • Create jobs within Oracle Fusion applications
  • Define SLA policies and manage performance against SLAs
  • Execute file transfers between Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM and other apps like ESS and Cloud Control
  • Manage job execution, including SQL-based tasks and Java-based application workflows
  • Use event-based automation in your schedules

How it works

Tidal’s adapter for Oracle Cloud ERP seamlessly integrates with Oracle by leveraging the Oracle API and embedded scheduler. It acts as a bridge between Tidal’s platform and Oracle Cloud ERP, enabling efficient communication and data exchange.

The adapter connects to the Oracle embedded scheduler and Oracle Cloud ERP Integration Services, allowing users to manage ERP and HCM scheduling tasks within the Tidal platform. Users can submit job requests, define schedules and set dependencies using Tidal’s intuitive user interface without the need for scripting.

Bulk data movement

Through the connection to Oracle Cloud ERP Integration Services, the adapter enables Tidal to execute bulk data movement (import and export) with your ERP and HCM applications, utilizing scheduling services to ensure efficient data transfers. Provide input files to be processed by the ERP or HCM, leveraging schema mappings and Oracle Database’s PL/SQL capabilities, and retrieve results files to use with other applications in your environment.

Tidal’s adapter, combined with Oracle ADF, offers fluid integration between nodes, enabling the transfer of large volumes of data between your ERP, HCM and other applications with ease. It utilizes Oracle’s API and job scheduler functionality to facilitate smooth and reliable data movement.

Self-service for business users

As ERP and HCM scheduling tasks are delegated to business and functional users, you can apply role-based access controls to grant privileges to just the capabilities they need and limit the parts of the schedule they can view and change. Tidal maintains a log of user actions and demonstrates you have the controls in place for critical systems to satisfy audit and compliance requirements. You get self-service capabilities while maintaining security and permissions.

Can Tidal’s adapter for Oracle Cloud handle synchronous and asynchronous job requests?

Tidal’s adapter supports both synchronous and asynchronous job execution. You can configure the timeout and retry settings to meet your specific requirements. Whether you need an immediate response or asynchronous processing, Tidal’s adapter offers flexibility and customization options through the request processor and stored procedures in Oracle Cloud.

Tidal and Oracle Cloud ERP integration FAQs

  • What does Oracle Cloud ERP do?

Oracle Cloud ERP is a cloud-based software suite designed to manage an organization's core business processes, encompassing areas like finance, supply chain and human resources. It aims to integrate these functions into a single, unified system, providing real-time visibility and data sharing across the organization.

  • How does Tidal workload automation work with Oracle Enterprise Scheduler to handle job requests?

Tidal workload automation software integrates with Oracle Enterprise Scheduler (OES) to manage and execute Oracle job requests, offering a centralized and efficient way to manage ERP scheduling tasks. Tidal utilizes its pre-built adapter for Oracle applications, enabling effortless integration and OES job activity management in Tidal.

    Here's how it works:

    1. Job request submission: Users submit job requests to OES via the Tidal interface, including job names, types and parameters.
    2. Tidal adapter interception: The Tidal adapter intercepts these requests and manages them through the Oracle E-Business API.
    3. Execution in OES: OES then receives the job request, assesses resources and assigns the job to an execution node.
    4. Monitoring and control: Tidal provides a centralized view to monitor the execution of these jobs, providing status updates and error handling capabilities.
    5. Dependency management: Tidal allows users to define dependencies between jobs, ensuring they are executed in the correct order.
    6. Event-based triggering: Tidal can monitor database events and use them to trigger job execution.
    7. Repository for schedule management: Tidal Repository allows for centralized change management of schedule elements, enabling easy replication of jobs across environments and ensuring schedule integrity.

  • Can I delete or disable job definitions using Tidal's adapter for Oracle Cloud without scripting?

Yes, Tidal's pre-built adapter allows you to easily delete or disable job definitions within Oracle Cloud without the need for scripting. This simplifies managing the lifecycle of job definitions and provides a user-friendly interface for making changes.
