Azure Blob

Automate Azure Blob storage activities with the Tidal by Redwood adapter. Azure Blob Storage is Microsoft’s object storage solution for the cloud, designed to store massive amounts of unstructured data like text, binary data, images, videos and documents. It’s a core component of Azure, offering scalability, durability and various access tiers for diverse use cases.

Flexible storage: The heart of effective orchestration

Tidal makes interfacing with Azure blobs simple and powerful.

Access data where it resides

Manage Azure containers and blobs with automation.

Go above and beyond with Tidal

Apply advanced scheduling to Azure Blob activities.

Build secure, stable connections

Integrate Azure storage tasks into your critical business processes.

Attain newfound visibility and functionality

The native Azure Scheduler (now Azure Logic Apps) has basic scheduling functionality and can only manage jobs within the boundaries of Azure solutions. With Tidal’s adapter for Azure, you can replace the Azure Logic Apps with Tidal to manage those tasks centrally and use advanced scheduling in your cross-application business processes.

What the adapter enables

Tidal’s adapter for Azure Blob supports the Azure security controls with user access via OAuth, shared access or the storage account. The adapter enables the following operations for Azure blob storage:

  • Create snapshots for backup
  • Create, update and delete containers
  • Get, delete and update blobs
  • Put, move, copy and rename blobs

How it works

This integration provides the functionality of the embedded scheduler plus more advanced capabilities not available in Azure Logic Apps. In addition to the basic functions mentioned above, with the Tidal adapter you can also:

  • Navigate to All Services → App Registrations in Microsoft Azure
  • Register an application
  • Add a Client Secret to the application
  • Assign the role of Storage Blob Data Contributor to the application
  • Collect information

Tidal and Azure Blob integration FAQs

  • What is an Azure blob?

An Azure blob is a scalable and secure object storage service designed for storing large amounts of unstructured data in the cloud.

  • What is the difference between Azure containers and Azure blobs?

    Containers

    • Organize and group blobs, similar to how folders organize files in a file system
    • A storage account can have an unlimited number of containers, and a container can store an unlimited number of blobs
    • Container names must be between three and 63 characters long and can only contain lowercase letters, numbers and dashes
    • Containers can be empty

    Blobs

    • Represent individual files or data entities stored in Azure Blob Storage
    • Blob names, including prefixes, can be up to 1,024 characters and can use any combination of characters
    • Blob storage is optimized for storing massive amounts of unstructured data
