Tidal Software has announced Tidal Enterprise Adapter for JMX is generally available. This adapter is designed for use with the Tidal Enterprise Scheduler. This adapter allows you to take advantage of the JMXTM management capabilities available in the Java environment to incorporate Java-based applications into the broader scheduling context that covers all of your other applications and systems. This holistic approach simplifies scheduling, and provides a single view and better control of business processes.

This adapter works by accessing exposed MBean attributes and operations in applications to be scheduled. Through a visual interface, these elements can be used to orchestrate scheduled and event-driven activity for Java-based processes. The adapter simplifies administration by allowing management of those processes in a broad enterprise context, thereby reducing the effort required for reliable processing.

Designed using the same interface as other Tidal job scheduling options, the adapter makes it possible to smoothly mesh JMX job management with existing processes, keeping complex batch process dependencies intact. Integrated security management features enable you to ensure secure management and use of required security credentials in implementing JMX connections.

• Access to MBean attributes and operations that can be used in both scheduled and event-driven activity
• JMX connection management that connects to JMX agents and associates attributes and operations to scheduling constructs, making possible fine-grained monitoring and management of Java-based custom jobs
• JMX job control that includes attributes management (get and set) and the ability to invoke operations, launch custom Java-based jobs, and trigger events based on attribute changes and Java job status changes
